| Wow, it's been so long since i've written one of these things. I figured that with more free time in my schedule, I actually have time to get on this xanga thing....plus, I've been clicking around to different xanga sites with a cool coincidence that I found some xanga sites of friends whom I haven't talked to in ages. Much to my chagrin, one of these friends tricked me!! Here we go.
The guys have been gone for a while, it's one of the longest road trips this year. So far they've played 5 games and they are 2-2-0-1 on the trip. Anyways, I guess what's been really difficult to take regarding my job is the fact that it is so hard to control the product that I am supporting and promoting. It's difficult to watch the guys lose, and sometimes I wanna go out there and take a few whacks at the opposing team. In fact one of my co-workers, Matt, is going to take me out to a rink tomorrow to show me how to play the great game of hockey. Wish me luck.
The Lakers are terrorizing the NBA with their starting lineup. Shaq, Karl and Gary are meshing really well. It's pretty watching karl and gary play the game of basketball, and plus Shaq is being shaq. This is not good - they must be stopped....as a celtics fan it's quite frustrating.
I just bought a new desk from office max [thanks to www.gotapex.com] - you're welcome leon!
room not included.
Can't wait to put this thing together and make my room hip. Where'd they get that awesome carpet...seriously!
10:27pm. Time to hit the sack! But first, must iron my clothes. Out.
| It's been around a week since quitting work for my new gig and I'm been bored to heck sitting around the house in the blazing heat. So far, I've been going to the driving range often, working on my webpage, surfing through all the Sports Websites, going out doing "errands," and lastly, i've kinda resurfaced in the CS world[sad huh?]. Anyways, it's weird how i used to spend the whole day wishing for the day off, and now that i have had around 6 days of unproductivity, I can't wait to get it going. I guess the only cool thing about staying at home on the weekdays is the fact that I get to watch all the reruns of Saved By the Bell ["It's alright!!"].
I need to get to work, I don't want to play computer games the whole day!
| Thursday:
Today I woke up to the news that Karl Malone had given in and joined the Lakers.
*Why Karl, why'd you do it?...loser*
Which poses the question of the validity of his legacy if he does win a championship with the Lakers. I mean, now that he's on the Lakers as a 4th option, I don't think that he should be known as a champion but rather a rent-a-vet that happened to be on a winning team. Karl, you've tainted your legacy, why couldn't you go out like a real winner -
Charles Barkley.
Anyways, it's funny how much time there is in the day when you don't have work anymore. Didn't do much today except for playing golf in the afternoon, working on a webpage, and listening to the Angels game on the radio. If anyone has any suggestions on what i should be doing on my spare time, please reply. Thanks.
| WEDNESDAY:
Upon the announcement of my new employment, I decided that today would be my last day with both my jobs at the Radio Production studio and Just Sports. Although, it was exciting news yesterday that I would be going to the job of my dreams, there were sad moments as I was cleaning up my desks and walking out the buildings for the last time.
For the most part, I was really sad hanging out with my Just Sports co-workers, Mariano and John Cox. They are by far the best co-workers I have ever been privillaged to work with. For some reason, we managed to have fun even while we were oppressed by the owners of Just Sports. Mariano was the funny one, John was the talkative one and I was the one who talked sense into everyone especially when the topic turned to the Lakers. The guys took me out to red robin today and seeing that they wanted to pay for me, I felt that I really wanted to thank them by paying for our lunch. After the past year of working together, I feel like we've been through too much to be "just co-workers," rather they're like brothers to me - yeah you are!!
After lunch, it was on my way to clean up my desk at Fourteenth Colony Productions. Again, it was a difficult time for me to say goodbye to them. What really made me sad today was when we were having fun as usual in our high rise offices, and Al Gottfried - our CEO, turns to me and says "Joe, you're really going to miss us having fun while you're over there working for the Ducks!" Truthfully speaking, he was right. In my mind I was having second thoughts wondering why I would leave something good for something uncertain. But things were okay when I remembered one of my favorite quotes regarding life,
"For all sad words of tougue or pen, the saddest are these 'It might have been'" -John Greenleaf Whittier
I don't want to regret ANYTHING, especially my actions of pursuing my dreams.
After an emotional drive going east of the 101, I spent the night with Annie and we hung out by running errands at Target and Rite Aid. I guess that's what couples do! And like always, it was really fun too!
| Wow, I can't believe that I'm doing this but after countless hours reading these suckers, i feel inclined to participate in this Xanga thing.
my new workplace
Today was one of those days that I've been waiting for my whole life, the Director of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim...yes i said the Mighty Ducks!!, called me today and offered me a marketing position with them. My dream has finally arrived and after two years of pursuing of working for a sports team and after all the tears and pain of wondering if anyone was going to take this electrical engineer, my start in this industry has finally arrived.
So thanks to all my friends who have been supporting me and my family, you guys are a big reason why I haven't given up!
On the other hand...Gary Payton has crossed the line of being a loser due to his rash decision of joining the Lakers. That includes you Karl Malone! If any of you all-stars are reading this, please join San Antonio, or the Celtics, to fight off the evil empire that is the Lakers.
